The Standard Gauge Railway Tender is Flawed

The Standard gauge railway project is mired in corruption, Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter insists. Appearing before the Parliamentary Investment Committee (PIC) Keter said that the company that has been awarded the tender had been blacklisted by the World Bank over claims of fraud.
The firebrand legislator reiterated that he was not working on anybody behest and that he wasn’t a broker as implied by a section of politicians. Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich told PIC on Tuesay that the project will attract additional cost in the turn of sh120.5 billion for insurance, cost of the loan and land acquisition. These additional costs were not known to the public.
