Toure Bags the Coveted African Footballer of the Year award

The prolific Ivorian and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure scooped the coveted African Player of the Year Award edging Super Eagles John Mikel and goal scoring machine Didier Drogba. The glamorous event held at Eko Hotel in Victoria Island saw the Ivorian bag his third conservative African Player of the Year Award. Toure has had an illustrious career playing for top flight clubs like Beveren in Belgium, Metalurh Donetsk in Ukraine, Olympiacos in Greece, and AS Monaco in France. He was part of the 2009 legendary Barcelona club that won six trophies in one season. The Manchester City player is a genius in passing the ball and his goal scoring ability has endeared him to many footballer lovers.
