The silence of the Head of State, Uhuru Kenyatta, following the callous killing of 28 innocent Kenyans by Al Shabaab elements is baffling. Since the attack took place in Mandera the President has not issued a statement and his overly excitable communications office is mum. His facebook and twitter handles haven’t been updated to condole with the families who lost their loved ones.
Uhuru Kenyatta is currently in Abu Dhabi attending a series of bilateral talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan geared towards expanding and deepening cooperation. According to emirates247.com, the Kenyan President is among other leaders who attended the Grand F1 Grand Prix.
“ The final race was attended by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Ali Bongo of Gabon, President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic, President of Seychelles James Michel, and Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
This has left many wondering if the President is really in touch with the security situation in the country or he is preparing to drop a bombshell by firing some individuals..
