Bensouda Given One Week Ultimatum To Table New Evidence Against Kenyatta Or Case To Be Terminated…

Uhuru Kenyatta case may be terminated if the Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda is not able to table new evidence in a week time. The ultimate was issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) trial chamber on Wednesday when the prosecution requested for a further adjournment of the case against the President on the grounds that the Kenyan government was non-cooperative in the trial.
The statement read in part:

“Today, 3 December 2014, Trial Chamber V(B) issued a decision rejecting the prosecution’s request for a further adjournment of the case against Uhuru Kenyatta.”

The plea by Mr Kenyatta to have the charges dropped for lack of evidence was also rejected. The Hague based court also rejected Bensouda’s plea to have the Kenya government declared as non-cooperative.
