A 16 year old boy from Mahoma village in Bunyala south location, Busia County is in urgent need of medical attention following a rare head complication. According to the parents of John Bwire Adundo the complication started last year when he was in form two after failing down.
The boy is said to have lost his senses eating papers and runs around like a mad man. He is unfriendly to everyone and disappears from the homestead only to be found near river Nzoia. The parents have been to several hospitals including the Agha Khan Medical Centre, Nyanza Hospital and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Eldoret where the boy was operated only for the problem to recur with a vengeance.
According to the mother, two boils appeared on his head and formed a big wound that discharges pus,
“Sometimes the wound releases maggots which again disappear after some time,” explains the mother.
The disease has left the family in abject poverty after using a lot of resources to treat him,
“I have borrowed loans from the bank to treat the boy until now I get no salary after the deductions,” says the father who is a teacher at Budala primary school in Bunyala south.
The parents, Mr. Chrispinus Adundo and Mrs. Wilikister Mukudi Adundo, are appealing to the Government and well wisher to assist them take their boy to Kenyatta National Hospital or Mulago Hospital for specialized treatment.
