David Ananda studied in St Paul University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity and was awarded with a scholarship to further his studies at the Prestigious Presbyterian College and Theological Seminary in South Korea for his masters of Arts in Christian Education.
The first born in a family of four completed his studies and returned back home to search for a job that has remained a mirage to date. With no option David asked his brother to lend him his motorcycle to ferry people in order to fend for himself.
This is how he got himself in the boda boda business. He, along with five other riders, park their motorcycles along Land Mawe in industrial area were they wait for clients. David shared his frustration as a boda boda rider in the busy Nairobi streets;
“Many motorists have not accepted boda as means of transport. Motorcyclists are perceived as a nuisance and some can hit one deliberately.”
He also faults City Council Askaris for mistreating them. David together with the other boda riders have initiated a parcel delivery service that they are in the process of formally registering.
