All businesses, private and public offices in Vihiga county have been directed to display the portrait of Governor Moses Akaranga besides that of President Uhuru Kenyatta, reports an online publication.
According to the blog that carried the story, Akaranga is intent on showing who the boss is and those who go against the new unpopular county law will be fined Shs150,000.
The portraits can only be sourced from the County offices for between Shs1,000 to 2,000 depending on the size. Those who purchase the portraits from other places other than the county offices will be slapped with the hefty fine as well.
He was quoted by Daily Post as saying;
“It is now one of the laws of our county. Officers should make sure that my portrait is put close to that of the President in all business ventures so that visitors to the County know we have a Governor in the region who is Akaranga”
