The government has not been able to contain the violence that is quickly sprawling out of control in the Kisii and Transmara border over allegation of cattle rustling.

The Kisii community is accusing the Maasai’s of stealing their cows, allegations that the Maa have vehemently denied. Heavily armed warriors from both communities chanted war cries and chants as police watched helplessly.

Kiango Iyienga is deserted as villagers have moved to safer location fearing attacks from Maasai warriors.
