Revealed: Top Ten Best, Average & Worst Performing Counties..Is Your County Among Them? Find Out Here….

It has now been revealed that most counties spend their allocations on recurring expenditure like salaries, fuel and administrations costs and not on development. Out of the 47 counties, only 10 have spent 30 per cent of their budget on development projects, according to a report released by the World Bank.





The best performing counties that spent 30 percent of their allocations on development are:

• Wajir
• Turkana
• Bomet
• Machakos
• Muranga
• Homa Bay
• West Pokot
• Trans Nzoia
• Kisii
• Nyamira

The Average performers on development projects initiated at 21 percent cent of the budget allocated are:
• Kwale
• Kakamega
• Samburu
• Mandere
• Taita Taveta
• Isiolo
• Tharaka Nithi
• Migori
• Marsabit
• Elgeyo Marakwet
• Kerichi
• Nandi
• Garissa
• Nyeri

The Worst performers that spent upto 1 percent of their allocation on development are with the rest going on recurrent expenditure:
• Kisumu
• Tana River
• Embu
• Uasin Gishu
• Nakuru
• Nairobi
• Kilifi
• Narok
• Laikipia
• Busia
• Baringo
• Bungoma
• Kitui
• Vihiga
