Police in Kitale have arrested three suspects including a house help and a manhunt launched for another suspect on the run.
Kitale OCPD Jackson Mwenga was quoted by a section of the media saying:
“We must get to the bottom of this matter to ascertain who has behind this act and what the motive behind it was”
All along the family thought she had been kidnapped but blood stains in her house pointed at a possible murder, reported the Nairobi News.
A foul smell emanating from the chicken coop led the family to the badly decomposing body that was covered with chicken feed. She had wire strangle marks suggesting that she was strangled.
The second wife of Mungatana and anti jigger campaigner said that she became troubled when she could not reach her mother on phone. She told the Nairobi News:
“I tried calling her phone on Thursday and Friday and I could not reach her. I later came to learn that she had gone missing”
