Five National Schools Results Have Been Cancelled Over Cheating (See Details)

Students of five national schools will not receive their results after their grades were cancelled over cheating. The overall number of students whose exams results were cancelled is 2,975. This number has however sharply declined given that in 2013 a total of 3,812 candidates were involved in exam irregularities.

This vice, according to Education CS Prof Kaimenyi, is made worse by principals and headteachers who are at the forefront of promoting exams cheating. He was quoted by a section of the media saying:

“These students will live with it, they will never trust seniors, their self-esteem is affected and they will not be self-confident in their lives even if they score top grades.”

The CS said that is was sad that national schools of high standing should be involved in exams malpractices given that such institutions admit the best performing candidates.

“ I wonder why a national school would admit the cream of the performers and still cheat. If the cream of the national can cheat, what will the rest do,”
