It takes courage to admit that you almost procured an abort!on after falling pregnant at the age of 18 and especially if you are a public figure. This, seemingly, does not bother NTV news anchor Victoria Rubadiri who opened up about her early pregnancy and contemplating procuring an abort!on.
The beautiful news anchor shared her tribulations when she discovered she was pregnant in an interview with True Love magazine. Vicky was a student at Temple University in the US, where she lived with her family, when she got pregnant. The only choice, she admitted in the interview, was to terminate the pregnancy.
Vicky told a local daily that she came out of the closet to share her story inorder to reach out to youths who may find themselves in a similar quagmire.
She was quoted as saying:
“I have been severally invited to speak in churches and institutions where I always share my story to encourage a young person whose life has taken an unexpected turn”
“It was a scary experience to find out I was pregnant, and the hardest part was to let my parents know since I never wanted them to go through that”
“I told my father I needed to get some money I had saved up in the bank but on our way there, he made me open up and tell him what I was going through.”
The presenter graduated and together with her they family moved back to Kenya in 2010. Vicky had to look for a job to fend for her daughter even though she received support from her parents. The daughter is now ten years old. Vicky was first at Capital FM before becoming a news anchor of repute at NTV.
