The woman cites another case where the baboons undressed a woman who tried to chase the animals from her farm.
The animals are said to be on the increase thanks to the food they steal from locals.
“The animals are just giving birth to twins, their population has increased very fast. Our population is still low because we are working hard but not getting enough food.”
Children are said to be scared to go to school in the morning fearing the monkeys and have to be escorted to school by their parents. Residents say that the animals behave like human beings and know how to open doors. The animals have a leader who has been nicknamed Meja who gives directions to the other troop.
The Endarasha ward MCA Peter Kamau has asked the KWS to move with speed and find a permanent solution to the baboon menace in his locality.
