UhuRuto ‘Dictatorship’ Using Digital Migration To Hide Its Corrupt Dealings Ask Kenyans To Rise Up, Raila Odinga Claims

Cord leader Raila Odinga reads mischief in Jubilee government handling of digital migration terming it as a ploy to gag the media. The former Prime Minister faulted the crackdown on popular TV stations on an article that appeared on Daily Nation titled Raila faults Jubilee over TV crackdown.

Raila went on to state the government had lost the war graft and was uneasy with such scandals being unearthed or their policies criticized.

The former premier went on to state that governments that are keen on instituting dictatorship start by curtailing free flow of information.
He said:

“If we don’t wake up and defend the freedoms under threat, soon we shall lose even those we are enjoying.”

“Governments that want to institute dictatorship start by dominating and directing the media and information systems,” Raila said.

He also called on Kenyans to be cautious as the loss of fundamental freedoms as stated in the constitution may not end with freedom of the press.
“If we don’t wake up and defend the freedoms under threat, soon we shall lose even those we are enjoying,” Raila cautioned.

It now over two weeks since the government shut down independent broadcaster locking millions from watching their favorite channels on KTN, Citizen TV, NTV and QTV.
