The siege that lasted for over 16 hours is over with 147 Garissa University students. This was revealed by Kenya Interior Minister Joseph Nkaissery when he was addressing the media.
The asked al-shabab stormed the universities dorms and opened fire on the students. Nkaissery was quoted saying:
“This is the saddest attack that has happened in the history of Kenya,” Nkaissery said in a live television broadcast.
This is worst Kenya terror attack in over two decades. The Interior CS said that they were able to rescue over 500 students. All the four militants were killed.
