Maili Nane in Cherangany was turned in a battlefield when supporters of Deputy President William Ruto clashed with youths allied to State House Adviser Joshua Kuttuny. It took the intervention of police to quell the demonstration that was organized by Kiprono Barno to express their displeasure with Kuttuny.
Supporters of the DP accused the once political bosom buddy of Cherangany MP of undermining the Ruto’s chances of ascending to the highest seat in the country.
The Deputy President had sensationally claimed the Kuttuny was one of the leaders from his own political backyard who was praying for his jailing by the International Criminal Court. Those named among the State House Adviser are Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto who have hatched a plan to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.

A youth leader, George Bitok, was quoted by the Star Daily as saying:
“We cannot allow outsiders to undermine Kuttuny in his home turf. He has done a lot to support the DP and Jubilee Administration. Ruto should be the last person to point a at Kuttuny…”
It is alleged that the organizers of the protests were given sh300,000 to tarnish the name of the Kuttuny.
Residents supporting the DP led by Rose Rono and John Waweru carried placards around Tuigon area showing solidarity with Ruto.
A lot of questions are being asked why Kuttuny, who is the State House Adviser, is undermining the Deputy President.
