The Al Shabaab militia seems to have made Garissa their playing field after they attacked Yumbis village, a Ministry of Interior statement reads.
According to the statement, the attackers entered the village, situated about 70 km north of Garissa on Thursday. Security forces were mobilized to counter the militants.
“Security forces swiftly mobilized and engaged the militants in a gun battle. No casualties were reported”
The Al Shabaab took responsibility for the killings of 148 Garissa University students in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Kenya. The militants want Kenya to pull out their soldiers from Somalia. This is not the first time the militia is attacking Garissa.
