This happened amidst looming accommodation crisis in the Eldoret based varsity. Some of the students have missed rooms from the university, where the administration argues that the spaces are to be left for the Garissa University students.

The registration of the Garissa students occurs at a time when most of the students are fearing for their security. Most of them say they fear that some of the Garissa students joined hands with the perpetrators and might do the same on the highly populous main campus.

Moi University Main Campus has a population of almost 20,000 students.

Barely a month ago, had the NIS given a security alert on Uasin Gishu, where the university is located.
