Man Chains Himself Onto A Tree At KNH Casualty Ward Demanding For More Life Saving Cancer Machines..(See Photos)

A man from Nyandarua, touched by the plight of cancer patients in Kenya, is on a hunger strike outside the casualty of Kenyatta National Hospital. Chained onto a tree he is on a campaign to raise awareness on the suffering of cancer patients, some of whom have been given appointment for chemotherapy upto the year 2017. David Wanjohi now seeks Sh100 Million for the purchase of a radiotherapy machine.

Currently, KNH has one machine. Patients who cannot afford treatment in private hospitals or treatment out of the country have no choice but wait in the hope that they can live until then. The man from Nyandarua says that leaders should organize for a national harambee to raise money to buy more machines. He particularly appeals to the president, the first lady, senators, governors and religious leaders to provide leadership in this endeavour.
