For starters, Jaguar has never addressed either in his music or in any forum issues to do with drugs. Those close to him say that expressing himself is an issue. The only qualification he has in the fight against drugs is his closeness with the President.

Jaguar maybe a teetotaler but it ends there. He is not an advocate, has never been one and he will not start being one after the appointment. Here is what the Statement from the State House spokesman, Manoah Esispisu had to say about the appointment:
“In making the appointments, the Administration has tapped into the wisdom, experience and knowledge of our senior citizens, while embracing the energy, enthusiasm and innovation of our young people.” Jaguar for a good part of the Jubilee period in office has enjoyed close relations with President Uhuru Kenyatta and has been a contributor on youth affairs. His appointment term is a period of 3 years beginning April 17, 2015.
The President should have appointed an individual who has been involved in the fight against drug abuse. Those who have encountered David Ogot will agree with me that he could have been the best candidate. David has been an alcoholic himself and is still involved in helping individuals whose lives have been consumed by alcohol.
He has been involved with NACADA and why he was bypassed is still baffling. David has a story to share having been an alcoholic himself. If the President thinks by appointing his cronies he will win the war against drugs then he is delusional.
According to Sara Nanaa, who has worked with Ogot on drug abuse campaign, Jaguar appointment does not make sense at all. She said:
“A person who has been an alcoholic is able to relate very well with alcoholics. Ogot is that guy who tells a story having being an alcoholic himself. Jaguar is misplaced and will add not value to the war against drug abuse”.
We are yet to see what the flamboyant artiste will have to offer.
