Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has been the toast of the social media after it emerged that he had been evicted from his palatial Runda address for non-payment of rent. Sonko rubbished the evictions rumors saying that he knew the people behind the malicious lies designed to tarnish his name.
He was quoted by as saying:
“My family was away from the Runda home because it is school holidays and they went elsewhere. This week, we came back to our home. That’s mere propaganda and I know who is trying to feed Nairobians such lies”
He went on to say each of his four daughters has a house in Runda. He said:
“They all have their houses and construction is ongoing. I also own four parcels of land along Mombasa Road, the last one I bought for Sh50 million. This year, I also bought land and built a home for my wife for Sh70 million in Maanzoni, I also bought another house along Kiambu road. How can someone claim I am broke and can’t pay for my rent?”
The amount the Mike Sonko owes the landlord is Sh15 million.
