Sonko Thrown Out Of His Runda House Over Accrued Rent

Flamboyant suspended Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has allegedly been thrown out of his Runda house over non-payment of rent. Sonko is said to have been evicted two weeks ago from his palatial Runda home.

Sonko is said to owe his landlord over 15.8 million. According to well place sources, Sonko had a meeting with the landlord and they agreed he vacates the house to another address within Runda. The senator has been running the Sonko Rescue Team that has been providing services to Nairobi residents.

Questions were being asked on how he could sustain the projects and where the money was coming from. However the Sonko denied the allegations saying that it was a wider scheme by his political nemesis to taint his name:

.“It is normal to start from somewhere. It is the way of life. You can’t be born with a house in Runda. I rented it, and then bought it through the parliamentary mortgage scheme. Right now, it is fully paid for and it is in my name. I paid the last instalment for the house through a cheque a few days ago, through Diamond Trust Bank. I wrote a cheque for Sh10 million and it is allowed because my branch is in Capital Centre, and the seller’s branch is in town near Trattoria.”

The tag that he deals in drugs to finances his projects has refused to go away.
