Is The Jubilee Government Targeting Kamba’s?……Ruto Explains (See Details)

‘We are not targeting the Kamba community’ that is the message Deputy President William Ruto conveyed at St Charles Lwanga Boys Secondary School anniversary celebrations where he was the chief guest.

The school is in Kitui County, the political bastion of suspended Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu who appeared in Milimani Law court on Friday. Mrs Ngilu comes from Ithookwe village home which is adjacent to the school.

Ruto assured the Kamba community that the Jubilee government was not targeting their leaders after the resignation of Mumo Matemu from the anti-graft body. This sent tongues wagging that Uhuru was out to persecute the Kamba community.

The DP’s visit a day after the Land CS appeared in court over corruption allegations is seen by political pundits as an attempt to cool the political temperatures among the Kamba. Ngilu was accompanied to court with her long time political nemesis, Kalonzo Musyoka, to show solidarity with the suspended Land CS.

Ruto downplayed the accusations that the government was out to persecute Kamba leaders. He asked those in attendance if Kamau, chirchir and Kosgey were from the Kamba community.

Ms Monica Juma is another Kamba who was overwhelmingly rejected by MPs after she was nominated to the position of Secretary to the Cabinet. The National Assembly is dominated by MPs allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta. The MPs even vowed to push for her sacking as the Interior Principal Secretary.

Ruto stated that it’s the MPs to be blamed and not the President.
