Tough willed Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua is gearing to join Cord to form a formidable opposition ahead of the 2017 polls. Karua has stated before that she would not consider joining Jubilee.
She made her intent clear when one of her followers on twitter asked her to keep off Cord if she planned to retire with “losers”. The Narc K leader curtly replied: "My life, my choice,"
On more than one occasion Karua has attended Cord events. She was also with Cord leaders to discuss on the agendas to present to US President Barrack Obama when he was in the country for three days.

Obama was to rebuke one of the opposition leaders for exhibiting hypocrisy after the meeting. The leaders did not reveal the leader who Obama referred. They instead said the meeting was cordial and fruitful.
The joint press briefing at Capitol hill was attended by Karua, Cord leader Raila Odinga, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula.
The merger of Cord and Narc Kenya is a sealed deal, according to well-placed sources in the two parties.
