I Will Lead The Luhya Community In Supporting Raila Odinga In 2017 After We Form A Coalition, Atwoli Declares (See Details)

The Secretary General for Central Organisation of Traders Union (COTU), Francis Atwoli, has blasted Deputy President William Ruto for hosting political delegations instead of steering the country to posterity.

The trade unionist was speaking in Khwisero, Vihiga county during the burial of his relative Mr James Nyangweso, where he indicated his willingness to work with Cord leader Raila Odinga.

Atwoli said that he was in the process of forming a coalition with Raila ahead of the 2017 general election.

In a veiled attack on Ruto, the vocal COTU SG said that those unsure of their popularity were busy giving handouts to women.

He was quoted as saying:

“If I were the President, I would sack public servants who bring political delegations to me. We should focus on developing our country for the young generation and not politicking. Those in panic are the ones who have started moving up and down and disturbing women with handouts. But I want to say that we will put you in your rightful place when time comes,”

Atwoli said he and Raila are the only individuals who can check Uhuru’s excesses if they formed a coalition.

“Western Community has faith in me. I have money, two wives and 15 children, traditional cows and homestead. The Baluhya Community will listen to what I say and you will witness it soon in Bukhungu stadium,”

He went on to label Mudavadi as a pretender who has nothing to offer the Western region.

“Mr Mudavadi pretends to castigate the government in public, but have you seen how his children constantly attend meetings in State House and Eldoret?” Atwoli said.
