Fidel Odinga Road In Nyali To Be Officially Opened Today As Raila Plans To Do This During The Launch (See Details)

The name to be named after the late Fidel Odinga

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has jetted into Mombasa to attend the official opening of a road named after his late son Fidel Odinga.

According to his spokesman Dennis Onyango, the Cord leader will steer clear of politics and strictly preside over the opening of Fidel Odinga road in Nyali.

It was anticipated that Raila would visit Malindi county to campaign ODM candidate Willy Mtengo. Last week President Uhuru Kenyatta had made forays in the region to campaign for their candidate Philip Charo.

Onyango said:

“The party leader will obviously be in Mombasa tomorrow evening or Wednesday morning for the opening of the new Fidel Odinga Road, but will not visit Malindi as expected”

“We know that many expect him in Malindi for campaigns, but, unfortunately, he has to fly back almost immediately after the naming of Fidel Odinga Road”

Raila fly immediately to his rural home in Bondo for the annual Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Memmorial Service this weekend.
