KDF Soldiers in Somalia
The Kenya Defence Forces have withdrawn from El Adde and are said to be heading to the Kenyan border following the deadly attack by Al Shabaab elements, the Daily Nation reports.
According to KDF spokesman Col David Obonyo, KDF is making a normal operational maneuver that should not be interpreted as a withdrawal.
The militants claimed they killed over 100 soldiers, figures that cannot be independently verified. El Adde residents have welcomed the pullout following the heavy aerial bombardment by KDF fighter jets since the attack according to BBC.
Obonyo said that some of the soldiers killed had already been identified and DNA was being carried out to identify the rest.
