Uhuru Donates 2,000 Of Their 30,000 Acres In Taita Taveta To Squatters (See Details)
Squatters in Taita Taveta will be resettled and issued with title deeds in land belonging to the Uhuru family, spokesman Manoah Esipisu told the press at State House, Mombasa.
This is part of President Uhuru Kenyatta campaign promise to deliver the emotive land question in the coastal region.
Already the Head of State has presided over the issuance of title deeds to squatters in the 930 acre Waitiki farm located in Likoni.
Seven thousand and eight hundred squatters are beneficiaries of the Waitiki resettlement after the Head of State brokered a deal with Evanson Kamau.
The Uhuru family is arguably the largest landowners in the country and some see the gesture by the President as giving back what his father grabbed from the people of Taita Taveta.
