Uhuru Personally Called Raila Odinga To Join Him At The Defence Force Memorial Hospital To Honor Our Fallen Heroes (See Details)
President Uhuru Kenyatta reportedly called Cord leader Raila Odinga to request him to join him at the Memorial Hospital to condole with the families of Kenya Defence Force Soldiers (KDF) who had been killed by Al Shabaab militants, reports Corridors of Power.
The former Prime Minister together with President Uhuru, the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto visited the injured soldiers and exchanged pleasantries with them.
It is said that the President did not have to do a lot of convincing as the Cord leader agreed to the request saying that leaders have to come together to demonstrate unity in the face of terrorists attacks. He was accompanied by Cord co-principal Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka.
The government has not yet been able to ascertain the number of casualties although the Al Shabaab have put the number at 103.
