Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has advised leaders from Western to forget the presidency.
Speaking in Mumias East constituency, the CS termed the presidential ambitions of Musalia Mudavadi, Cyrus Jirongo and Cord co-principal Cyrus Jirongo as ‘a waste of time’ and laughable. He went on to describe leaders from the region as being divisive and lacking in direction.
Eugene went on to state that he doesn’t regret joining the Jubilee administration and that Uhuru will easily win the 2017 elections.
The CS further admonished the leaders for constant fighting instead of urging the locals to register as voters in large numbers given that Kakamega and Bungoma have the lowest registered voters.
He said of those clamouring for the presidency:
“The Luhya community has stood together but has been let down by leaders who are always engaging in supremacy battles that has been the undoing in the quest for presidency.”
Leaders from the region who included former Cabinet Minister Dr Noah Wekesa, MPs Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), Janet Nangabo (Woman rep Trans-Nzoia), Arthur Odera (Teso North), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani) and David Lazaro (Saboti) reinstated that they will stand firm with Jubilee.
