The Malindi by election pitting Jubilee candidate Philip Charo and Cord Willy Mtengo is turning ugly after an ODM campaigner was given a dog beating by Jubilee goons.
According to post shared on facebook, ODM social media campaigner in Malindi known as Mr Nyundo was roughed by Jubilee hirelings who left him with life threatening injuries.
An ODM supporter who shared the unfortunate incident wrote:
After sensing defeat, Jubilee has no worries resorted to dirty games. One of Odm social media campaigner in Malindi has been attacked by hired Jubilee goons. Mr Nyundo is a respected odm campaigner in Malindi. He is currently being treated.
Meanwhile, Gov Amason Kingi will address the press at the campaign secretariat in Malindi tomorrow at 10am regarding this attack and others that are planned on odm supporters.
In the meantime, we have notified our men in black and the alert has changed from green to red. The first batch comprising of locals will now take change if that's what Jubilee want.
ODM will surely respond to Peace with Peace. Violence with Violence. Noise with Noise. Mercy with Mercy. Panga with Panga.
Deputy President William Ruto and opposition chief Raila Odinga are expected to land in Malindi to campaign for their respective candidates in the hotly contested by elections.
A win by Jubilee will boost their morale in a region that is largely an ODM stronghold. President Uhuru Kenyatta camped in the region for almost a month to drum out support for JAP candidate.
He dished out title deeds and other goodies to the locals in a bid to win their support ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Raila has asked Malindi residents to vote Mtengo to teach Jubilee a lesson.
Other Jubilee bigwigs expected in Malindi include National Assembly Leader Aden Duale, Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi Sonko and other key State House operatives.
