According to the giant Kenya National Union of Teachers )KNUT), the government has been frustrating teacher’s salaries increment and the by election provided them a good opportunity to payback.

Boniface Tinui, who is the KNUT assistant treasurer, also faulted Jubilee for stagnating teacher’s promotions by introducing performance contracts.
