Five MPs from Meru secretly met Raila Odinga last week, Corridors of Power reports. The MPs discussed the possibility of supporting Raila Odinga in the forthcoming general elections.

The MPs, who met at Lilian Towers, expressed their dissatisfaction with President Uhuru Kenyatta. According to Corridors, the MPs kept the meeting highly secretive with the legislators agreeing to set another meeting soon. The MPs complained that Uhuru's administration has neglected the region.

ODM enjoys relative popularity. Mpuru Aburi of Tigania East was elected in an ODM ticket although he defected to Jubilee.

The MPs urged NASA leaders to remain united if they wanted to dislodge Jubilee from power.
This came weeks after Igembe South MP Franklin Mithika Linturi admitted that NASA will harvest a lot of votes in the region thanks to the many unfulfilled pledges by Jubilee.
The MP told the Star:

“It is four years down the line, yet nothing has been done. The miraa-growing areas are gone unless Jubilee makes urgent interventions to correct the situation”
“I am speaking what the majority of my area colleagues are unable to say. But if the issues are not corrected, then we will not have a problem. Historical issues of unemployment and underdevelopment must be fixed urgently”
