Museveni Takes Over Migingo Forces Kenyans Not To Use Mobile Phones
Kenyans were reportedly denied the use of mobile phones, with incidents of unprovoked arrests being the norm.
The Kenyan government has opted to remain mum over the impunity exhibited by Museveni. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have openly shown their support for the Ugandan dictator.
During the last disputed election, DP Ruto campaigned for Museveni sparking outrage among Ugandans. Kenyans also criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta when he sent a congratulatory message to Museveni following the elections that were marred with violence and arrests of opposition chief Kizza Besigye.
The silence by Uhuru has been interpreted to mean that he has a pact with Museveni, or doesn’t care about the island.
According to a popular blog, fisherman and other small time businessmen are trooping out of the Migingo in droves.
An IEBC official who tried to conduct voter registration and a chief were reportedly roughed up by Ugandan forces.
