President Uhuru Kenyatta is alleged to have stolen the 2013 elections, if Oswago is to be believed.
According to the then Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission (IEBC) CEO, James Oswago, external forces pushed the commission to manipulate the elections in a particular direction.
Oswago distanced himself and IEBC from any wrongdoing. The CEO was quoted as saying:
“External manipulation of the results could have come outside the commission. It’s a rank insanity that after what happened in 2007, the electoral commission could plan to change the outcome”
He said that if the situation does not change IEBC will face the same dark forces granting Uhuru a second term:
“Am worried that we are approaching the next general election but these issues remain unresolved. I suggested to have a multi-displine and bipartisan team to probe the failures and give independent views but that is yet to happen”
