Am Not Ready To Forgive Raila For Lying That He Was Attending My Presidential Launch, Bitter Wetangula States (Details)

Ford Kenya leader and CORD co-principal Moses Wetangula is bitter with Raila Odinga after her failed to show up to the much touted presidential launch in Kakamega.

The much-publicized event-which was attended by cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka was marred by violence between ODM and Ford Kenya supporters.

Wetangula revealed that he had communicated with Raila Odinga and he had assured him of his presence. His absence got political pundits speculating that he was privy to the violence and opted to give the function a wide berth.

The former Premier instead flew to Tanzania to meet with President John Pombe Magufuli. A visibly angered Wetangula blamed the chaos that erupted during the event on Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

He was quoted by a leading daily as saying:

“Oparanya is the one who had planned the disruption of my meeting but I must thank the thousands of my supporters who remained resilient despite the chaos caused by the hooligans

The Bungoma Senator was at a loss to explain why Raila was not present even after assuring him he would attend.
He revealed that he had talked to Raila before heading to the venue. He said:

“Let me not read so much over his absence, but I and Kalonzo spoke to him. Raila told us he was in Kisumu with Oparanya and they were on their way to Kakmega before he leaves for Mwanza in Tanzania”

Raila did not respond to queries of why he opted to fly to Tanzania with his family and skip the function.
