Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula is reportedly on his way out of CORD, Corridors of Power reports. The Senator has been holding several late night meetings with his top advisors and Jubilee legislators to workout a plan of exiting the CORD coalition.
Raila Odinga drew the ire of the Ford Kenya leader after he failed to turn up for the launch of his presidential bid held at Masinde Muliro in Kakamega. The CORD leader instead opted to fly to Tanzania with his family for a two day holiday.
Orengo then defended the action of Raila to skip the event saying they had intelligence that violence would break out during the chaotic presidential launch.
Wetang’ula and Kalonzo were notable absentee during the 10 years ODM celebration ceremony held in Mombasa in what most political pundits see as a subtle protests to Raila Odinga’s bullying tactics.
The Ford Kenya leader was quoted as telling Raila to quit making forays in his Western Kenya political bastion.
Others attributed his absence to reports that Wetang’ula was being sponsored by the Jubilee administration. While others blame Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya for acting as the powerbroker in Western region.
Wetang’ula is said to have told a senior Jubilee operative that he is willing to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
