These Are The ODM MPs Who Were Paid Sh50,000 To Attend Jubilee Rally

Cord leader Raila Odinga summed up last Saturday’s thanksgiving rally held at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru akin to “dancing on the graves of the post-election victims”.

Two ODM MPs, however, joined Jubilee supporters in celebrating the dropping of charges against Deputy Presdient William Ruto by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

William Ruto and Broadcaster Arap Sang were among the six Kenyans who faced crimes against humanity charges following the 2007/08 post-election violence that left over 1300 dead and 600,000 displaced.

Nyando MP Fred Outa claimed in a local daily that his ODM counterparts, James Rege (Karachuonyo) and Ken Obura (Kisumu Central), received Sh50,000 pocket money to attend the rally.

Outa was quoted by the Star as saying:

What is KSh 50,000? How can a honorable MP be bought with such money?”

CORD, led by Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and James Orengo, led a parallel rally in Kibra where PEV were paraded.

The coalition principals were absent during the rally.
