Wetangula Should Shut Up & Stop Undermining Raila, Governor Wycliffe Oparanya Fires Salvo

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has blasted Moses Wetang’ula for undermining and trying to wreck CORD from within.

Oparanya went on to call Wetang’ula a ‘small inconsequential river’ that is causing unnecessary disturbance in the coalition.

The Governor said that ODM was the only party with a national face and offered the Luhya community the best chance to ascend to power.

He was quoted by the Star Daily as saying:

"In Kenya’s highly tribal politics, ODM, which is the single largest party in the country, offers the best chance for the Luhya community to ascend to power,"

"There is a problem when big rivers begin to join small rivers. I therefore advise anyone from this region who wants to ascend to national leadership, including Wetangula, to join ODM instead of fighting it."

Oparanya urged the Bungoma Senator to fold up Ford Kenya and join ODM. The ODM deputy party leader cited the elevation of Musalia Mudavadi as Deputy Prime Minister and Kenneth Marende as House Speaker by Raila.

Wetang’ula and Oparanya have had a frosty relationship.
