Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery is working with the opposition to scuttle the ruling coalition, Jubilee legislators have claimed.
According to Women Representative Mary Seneta and Daniel Kanchori (Oloosirkon-Sholinke), Nkaissery has been the divisive figure in Kajiado county politics.
Speaking at Empatipat village during the Irkileku rite of passage for Maasai morans, Seneta castigated the Interior CS for a being a stumbling block in the unity of area leaders.
She was quoted by the Star as saying:
“(Nkaissery is) fully immersed in Kajiado politics and is undermining the spirit of Jubilee unity in the region by putting a wedge between elected leaders”.
“We are told he was even at State House on Tuesday to discuss the compensation of residents whose farms the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company way leave will pass through”
They went on to say that Nkaissery was working with the opposition and misleading the President that he was on his side.
Seneta said it was wrong for Nkaissery to involve only MPs Peris Tobiko (Kajiado East), Moses Sakuda (Kajiado) and Senator Peter Mositet and leave out other area leaders.
“Why are only three elected leaders being involved yet other MPs, MCAs and community leaders have been affected by Ketraco’s power lines? Why did they leave us out, yet we are all stakeholders?” the Senate said.
The leaders said that Cord leaders are being teargassed to make them look like 'heroes' in the eyes of their followers.
