Shock As Half Of University Of Zimbabwe Students Are HIV+ With One Student Hall Turned Into A ‘Maternity Wing’
47 percent of UZ students who underwent voluntary testing and counseling were found to have tested positive.
The Vice Chancellor Professor Levi Nyagura said that the instution had taken stringent steps to curb the spread of the virus. The male and female students have banned from visiting each other in a move aimed at minimizing sexual contact.
Professor Levi went on to say that Swinton Hall had almost turned into a maternity wing thanks to the high population of pregnant students.
Other measures taken include banning of alcohol in campus premises.
