Wiper Leaders Accuse Raila Of Being A Political Conman
According to Mbooni MP Mr Kisio Munyao, Richard Makenga (Kaiti) and Joe Mutambo (Mwingi Central), Raila had reduced them to ‘flowers girls’ and not equals in the coalition.
This is after the ODM leader rubbished a 2013 memorandum of understanding that would see Kalonzo being the Cord flag bearer claiming that it was invalid since he did not win the presidency.
Mr Munyao said that the Kamba community feels used by Raila’s when he said that the MoU between himself and Kalonzo was not valid. He stated that they would not allow Raila to ‘carry’ them like flower girls and should forget their support come 2017.
The three legislators heaped praises on Uhuru’s government and commended him for initiating projects running to billions of shillings in the community.
Hassan Omar also weighed in on who should become Cord flagbearer in the forthcoming general elections. The Wiper Secretary General said that it was only mature of Raila to respect the MoU and allow Kalonzo to be flagbearer as agreed in the MoU.
He said that the party believes that Kalonzo is best placed to trounce Uhuru if given a chance. The former Vice President has not come out to state his position on the thorny matter.
Omar urged a political agreement on who is best suited to be the presidential candidate to avoid any confusion ahead of the polls and popularize the candidate.
Wetangula is also rumored to be uncomfortable working with Raila and is said to be plotting to work with the Jubilee when the right time comes. Raila skipped Wetangula presidential bid opting to visit Tanzania Presidential instead.
The Cord principals have been showing solidarity in public.
