Wabukala For Top IEBC Job, MPs Propose
Jubilee leaders have proposed retired head of the Anglican Church of Kenya Eliud Wabukala as the best suited candidate for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) top job once the current chairman Issack Hassan exits from office.
The commissioners have grudgingly offered to leave office after almost a month long running battles between police and Cord protesters demanding for the ouster of the IEBC commissioners.
Hassan and his team said that they will leave office only if the joint parliamentary select committee investigating IEBC does not find them culpable of any electoral malpractices on the 2013 polls.
Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and Water and Irrigation CS Eugene Wamalwa now want Wabukala to replace Hassan as the new chair of IEBC.
