The revelations were made by Nyeri Woman Representative Priscilla Nyokabi after the Governor accused her of getting pregnant instead of serving the people who voted for her.
According to the article appearing in the Nairobian, the Governor urged the electorate to elect women who have hit menopause.
Gachagua was quoted by the same weekly as saying:
“We elected a Woman Representative who instead of working for the people, went on to calculate how to multiply the population. Now, instead of concentrating on her work, she is busy breastfeeding”
“Why was she not giving birth before she was elected? It is high time the Nyeri people considered electing women who are done with giving birth and bringing up nursery school kids”
An infuriated Nyokabi responded by accusing the Governor of siring children with young girls and in the process embarrassing his wife.
She said, unlike Gachagua, she got pregnant with her husband.
“I am better off I gave birth with my husband. My relationship is above board, while he is busy embarrassing the county and his wife by courting young girls then dumping them after they deliver,” Nyokabi was quoted as saying.
Gachagua was taken to court by a woman seeking child support.
Nyeri MCAs impeached the Governor citing abuse of office, failure to comply with the law and gross violation of the law.
