Award winning reggae superstar Wyre ‘Da Lovechild’ is gearing up to clash with Benga beat artiste Makadem in what is touted as one of the biggest concert this year dubbed ‘Reggae Vs Benga Beat’.
The two artistes, who will be sharing the same stage at the Alliance Francaise, have been throwing barbs at each other in what is also seen as a battle of egos.
Makadem, in an earlier interview with this writer, said that Wyre and his fans will be left as mere spectators as he brings his A game in the eagerly awaited showdown. Teaming up with Bundu band, the Benga beat artiste advised Wyre and his fans to ‘find a corner and watch him work his magic’.
Wyre responded by questioning the number of hits, if any, that Makadem has ever released in his illustrious career in the music industry spanning over two decades.
‘Ask him how many hit songs he has before he tries to say anything about me and my fans’, questioned Wyre.
Wyre went on to state that his fans should expect nothing short of his trademark high energy.
‘….Nothing short of high energy!! Makadem should know by now that I don’t joke around with stage performances. My band is on another level!’
‘We also want to see who will outsell the other when it comes to album sales that night’, added the lovechild.
For only Shs1,000, fans will be treated to cocktail of Reggae and Benga Beat and decide between Wyre and Makadem who is the ‘Master’.
