Reality has hit hard opposition legislators who ditched their parties to join the newly formed Jubilee Party.
One of Jubilee most valuable catch, Lamu Governor Issa Timamy, ditched the party in a huff citing opaqueness and favoritism in the Uhuru-led outfit opting to instead stick with ANC.
Vihiga Senator and Lugari MP Ayub Savula followed suit announcing that their supporters were not ready to be part of the Jubilee Party. The duo, who were elected on a UDF ticket, said that they had already informed the Registrar of Political parties their desire to ditch JP.
Khaniri was quoted by a section of the media as saying:
“We have three options - to stay in the new party, join another party or become independent. I am not comfortable in the Jubilee Party since the merger was poorly managed with no agenda for Kenyans”
They went on to say that JP was mired in corruption and high cases of tribalism making the party a hard sell.
