The stage is all set for the 2017 general elections. The National Super Alliance (NASA) principals have done pretty much everything ahead of the polls to dislodge the Jubilee Party from power. Although their wives are a driving force in their political careers, they also have their careers to take care of. Here is a list of what NASA Principal’s wives occupy themselves with when they are not with their husband’s on the campaign trail.
She is the wife of the former Prime Minister and NASA flagbearer Raila Amolo Odinga. Ida Odinga has amazing leadership skills. She continues to play a pivotal role in her husband’s illustrious political career. The two have been married for more than 40 years and they have four children including the late Fidel Odinga who was the first born. Ida Odinga was once a teacher at Kenya High School. Throughout Mr.Odinga’s incarceration during the Moi era, she remained patient and waited steadfastly for her husband. Ida is an activist and businesswoman.
Tessie Shangati Mudavadi
She is the wife of Musalia Mudavadi. Tessie has always been a driving force in her husband’s political career. The two have been married for more than twenty years and they have three children- Mike, Moses, and Maryanne. They met during a school fundraiser in Lugari. Tessie is the managing trustee of the Mudavadi Memorial Foundation Trust Fund.
She is the wife of Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka. Pauline is camera shy and she is rarely seen in public. The two have four children. Pauline Musyoka is a senior employee of Central Bank of Kenya.
She is the wife of Isaac Ruto. Their daughter Emy Chepng’etich Ruto was the captain of the Kenya National Women’s Cricket Team. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2014. Mrs. Ruto is an engineer and she works for the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) as the Chief Manager, Construction.
Anne Wacheke Ngugi Wetangula and Phyllis Wetangula
These are the wives of Moses Wetangula. Anne Wacheke Ngugi Wetangula is a businesswoman and in 2016, her business nearly cost them their marriage. It is alleged that Anne was carrying out business transactions with a Congolese man who conned her unspecified amount of money. When Wetangula found out, he was furious leading to a physical confrontation.
Phyllis Wetangula is Moses Wetangula’s first wife.
Moses Wetangula has another third wife who he married under Bukusu customary law in 2011. The woman sued the lawyer for negligence for abandoning her and their children. Phyllis claimed that she used to work, but the lawyer urged her to quit after she gave birth. However, he claimed that he didn’t abandon her and their two children. In addition to these two children, Moses Wetangula has three other children. They include Fidel Wetangula, Sheila Wetangula, and Tamara Wetangula.
