Hard hitting former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna has been banned in all shows hosted by NTV host, Larry Madowo, over remarks he made on the Side Bar Show aired yesterday (October 18).
Madowo found himself in rough seas when he cut short Miguna Miguna on several occasions to seek clarification on some of his remarks.
The barrister first salvo was directed to the persons of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto who he referred to as demagogues raising protests from fellow panelists Elgeyo Markawet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and nominated legislator Jennifer Shamalla.
Efforts by the host to have Miguna to withdraw the statement fell on deaf ears. A demagogue is defined in the Cambridge dictionary as a person, especially a political leader, who wins support by exciting the emotions of ordinary people rather than by having good or morally right ideas.
The anti-climax of the 10 pm show came at the tail end when the barrister was giving his final remarks. In his usual self assured manner, Miguna said for a revolution to take place blood has to be involved, forcing Madowo to inject.
“For a revolution to take place, blood sometimes has to be involved,” before being cut midway by the host who questioned Miguna if he was advocating for violence.
Miguna retorted: “Let me finish, you cannot inject before I make my final remarks….” But this did not deter the host from demanding for an explanation and this is where the show went down south.
“Don’t call me back here if you’d keep on interjecting, when I am expressing my independent view”.
Larry, visibly angry by the response he was getting from Miguna, told him “Don’t come back to my show!”
The barrister told off Larry reminding him that he was even a competent journalist.
