President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to weaken the National Super Alliance (NASA) by appointing powerful leaders affiliated to the party to his cabinet.
According to a story published on the Star titled: “Uhuru considers Kidero, Khalwale, Serem for Cabinet”, the President is keen on absorbing the Opposition bigwigs in his ranks to give his Cabinet a ‘national outlook’.
Uhuru knows he will silence NASA if he manages to loop former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale, ex-Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Raila Odinga’s cousin Jakoyo Midiwo into his cabinet.
Although he told the Star he wasn’t interested in the seat, Khalwale has remained tight lipped on the subject on his otherwise busy twitter account.
Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has played hot and cold in the Opposition and it will be very unlikely that he will let go a cabinet slot.
This can be the clearest indication that he won’t mind joining Jubilee as a cabinet secretary.
Other leaders from NASA strongholds earmarked for cabinet slots are;
Ex- Karachuonyo MP James Rege
former Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno
former Teso South MP Mary Emase.
Other leaders being considered for the position outside NASA are:
former Meru governor Peter Munya
former Taita Taveta Women Rep Joyce Lay
Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju.
