Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju open defiance to the ‘People President’ Raila Amollo Odinga has earned him as many detractors as admirers.
His unwavering support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the face of hostility from his community propelled him to be named in the cabinet-albeit in a non-existent docket.
That said, a story alleging Tuju said he regrets being born a Luo is generating a lot of interest on social media.
According to a social media user going by the name Hon. Paul Neko, the CS without portfolio wishes ‘he was born a Kikuyu’. The tweet alleges that the Starehe Boys Centre alumnus regrets being a Luo.
His tweet read:
Raphael Tuju regrets being a Luo, he wish he was born a Kikuyu. But rightfully so, because being a Luo is not easy, it comes with a lot of demands and challenges, like being a real lion in bed which Tuju isn't.

Our search online on the purported statement by proved futile. Probably Paul Neko drew his conclusion from Tuju’s statements belittling Raila Odinga’s.
Here is one such example:
“When I was a kid I used to play ‘kalongolongo’ (a children’s cooking game). Now that I have grown up you don’t expect me to play the same game. The swearing in was like ‘kalongolongo,” He told mourners on Odinga’s swearing in.
Interestingly, Tuju has a taste for Githeri (a mix of boiled beans and maize)-favorite dish in Central Kenya.
